Born as a project between John Good and studio legend Russ Kunkel, Contemporary Classic shells are an offshoot of the popular DW Classics line of custom drums. Designed to capture the vintage drum sounds of yesteryear, and so much more, these shells feature a plied poplar core with an African mahogany inner and outer ply. The absence of reinforcement hoops adds resonance to these warmer-sounding woods and the result is a drum that can sound retro or modern, depending on head selection or recording techniques. Available in every California Custom Shop size and most finishes, these drums are at home in the studio, but can be used in a wide variety of live musical applications. This Snare Drum is a 14×6.5″.
